Endgame By Rise Against

Endgame, the latest release from Chicago-based punk band Rise Against, has finally made it to store shelves, and it does not disappoint. The fast paced, high energy sound will most assuredly get your foot tapping, your blood pumping, and may, in some cases, get you driving a little too fast. All the while, the strong political and social messages will touch you, and get you thinking long after you turn the album off.
Rise Against is a band that seems to just keep getting better and better, and Endgame very much continues this trend. This album is easily the best new release of the year. Rise Against has provided an incredible sound, one that is instantly recognizable and all their own. Every instrument is played perfectly, and that sound comes across flawlessly. The guitar work is above and beyond most punk offerings and will have you playing the air guitar along with every song on the album. You will, without question, find yourself humming the song lyrics after only hearing them a few times.
The vocals of front man Tim Mcllrath are not only powerful, but also incredibly thought- provoking, once again delivering the excellent mix of singing and screaming that Rise Against fans have all come to know and love. The political and social messages here are so strong that even people who aren't fans of the band or genre should give it a listen, if only to just hear the cry for help and the wake up call that Mcllrath and the rest of the band delivers. With every track, Endgame touches on many important issues, from the war and mistreatment of our soldiers, to the disaster that was hurricane Katrina, and more, making Endgame an incredibly thought-provoking album that really should be required listening for every citizen of this country.
The only complaint that could possibly be brought against this album is that it's over all too quickly. Clocking in at just a little bit under forty-six minutes, the album is not too short, but  is so good that it does leave you wanting more. Minor complaints aside, this album should be a frontrunner for album of the year. The spectacular mix of hardcore and punk vocals, along with the deep political messages, and the high-energy musical performance make Endgame a must-have for anyone who is a fan of the band, the genre, or even music itself.

Rockabilly's Sam Phillips Turned a Work Ethic Into The Formation of Rock and Roll

Of all the heroes you can point to in the rockabilly world, one of the greatest of all was not a hero because of what he did with his own music, but because of what he did for the music of others. Sam Phillips who owned a small Memphis recording studio called Memphis Recording Service and started the Sun Records label was every bit as responsible for the rise of rockabilly and the very formation of rock and roll as his biggest start, Elvis Presley.
Phillips, who worked as a DJ and radio station sound engineer throughout the 1940s started his studio in a rented building on Union Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee in 1950. This was at a time in the post-World War Two years that scores of independent record labels were springing up around the country. In 1952 Phillips launched Sun Records, the label that would come be synonymous with rockabilly and is most often cited as the birthplace of rock and roll.
At its inception, Sun Records released mostly blues and R&B material and Phillips is credited with discovering Howlin' Wolf and several other bluesmen. Working in these genres of course meant that Phillips, a white man, worked with a lot of black performers in his studio. He gained the reputation for fair, honest, and respectful treatment of these musicians. That cost Phillips some standing with his white neighbors who--in a starkly segregated American South--hurled every insult imaginable at him for his association with black people. That's the first area where Phillips' ethic really became apparent. To him it didn't matter whether a guy was white, black, or green. What mattered was whether the musician had talent and potential. He resisted the pressure from narrow-minded whites and continued recording these black artists.
However, Phillips reportedly often talked about how he could make a million dollars if he could find a white performer that sounded like a black man. That simple statement, which was probably dismissed by most who heard it, betrayed the incredible insight that Phillips possessed and his prediction was soon to come true. As part of making ends meet in the studio, he also offered the service of cutting an acetate recording for anyone who walked in with three or four dollars to spend. One day a truck driver named Elvis walked into the studio to make one of these records and Phillips' knack for recognizing unusual talent prompted him to sign Elvis to Sun Records.
Elvis was far from a formed entity at that point, which makes it even more impressive that Phillips saw the potential he had. Then one day in February of 1954, Elvis gave a hint of that potential (which he probably didn't even know he had) and Phillips--who recognized it instantly upon seeing and hearing it--guided him to breaking loose and rockabilly was born.
Elvis was a smash sensation and Phillips had his white man that sings like a black man. Unfortunately for Phillips, he had to sell Elvis' contract for a mere $35,000 (plus a $5,000 signing bonus that he won for Elvis) from RCA Victor. So, only part of Phillips' prediction came true as Elvis made his millions with a different record label.
But Phillips was determined that Sun would not be a one-act label and he signed many young kids that went on to be some of the biggest names in all of rock and roll and country. Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty, Jerry Lee Lewis, Charlie Rich, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison...all of them recorded for Sun Records as did many, many others who had varying degrees of success with their Sun Record releases. It's simply stunning how many huge stars recorded in front of the microphones for the tiny independent record label on Union Avenue!
Once the original rockabilly wave died down in 1959 or 1960, the magic of Sun Records died down with it. Phillips operated the label until he sold it in 1968 but never realized the kind of success the label did in the mid 1950s. But in that brief five- or six-year period, no one had a bigger impact on the development of rock and roll than Sam Phillips. With an ethic that compelled him to treat his musicians fairly and to work hard, he was instrumental in the formation of rockabilly and thus rock and roll as a whole.

Hansika made her debut as a leading actress in Bollywood with Himesh Reshammiya in Aap Kaa Suroor - The Real Love Story. She played the role of Himesh Reshammiya's lover Ria. The film was released on 29th June 2007 and became a hit mostly with the masses across India. This has paved the way for her to be called a promising newcomer.


Hansika made her debut as a lead actress in Kannada film Bindaas with Puneet Rajkumar.The film was released on 15th February 2008.


She paired with Jr. NTR in the film kantri which was released in May 2008. The film was a moderate hit. It is rumored that she got to act opposite well known star Pawan kalyan in his forthcoming film 'Puli'. She recently won the prestigious Filmfare Best Debut Female Award - Telugu. her recent film Money Hai Toh Honey Hai didn't do well in the Box Office.
