Then you should start playing along with songs and really just play the chords. You should focus on progressing with chord changes. Playing at first will be strange since your fingers will have to adjust.
I know the feeling of wanting to play a fast and difficult song but your fingers do not seem to budge fast enough. Do not worry as you will need to go at your own pace.
Be sure to get your rhythm down by listening to songs. Timing is everything when it comes to music. You need to develop that feel for music in order to master guitar.
These are the basics. Once you have learned and mastered them you will want to move onto more advanced skills like playing by ear. Being able to tell the know a chord just by hearing it is a powerful skill.
