Guidelines to Help You Succeed at the 2010 Summer Intensive Program Auditions

You, like most young dancers, are getting ready for the 2010 Summer Intensive Program Auditions. Everyday you attend class and apply those corrections the ballet instructors are giving.
With all your might, you are trying so hard to prove yourself, but you still think it is not enough. Is this describing you?
There are a few guidelines that will help you succeed at the 2010 Summer Intensive Program Auditions:
1.) Smile - An auditioner wants to see confidence and a positive attitude. A smile is the easiest way to convey that mindset without speaking. Smiling through a simple mistake makes the judges believe that you are confident in yourself and your talent. Just remember that they can read a fake, cheesy smile so if you are not excited, learn to act.
2.) Don't Sweat the Small Stuff Be confident that you are the best that you can be. That is all you have to worry about. Do not check out the other dancers. This will put unnecessary doubt into your head and break your confidence. That belief in yourself is all you need to shine while performing.
3.) Everyone Makes Mistakes It is a true fact that no one will have a flawless audition. The best dancers are the ones who can display self-control and self-confidence while performing. If you make a face showing that you just made a misstep, the auditioner will know. If you keep that smile, it is possible the auditioner might not even notice.
4.) Make Eye Contact Laughing, smiling, and talking when asked a question are very important parts to a competition. Looking the auditioner in the eye shows you are confident in yourself as well as your talent.
